Why use OnTarget?
1. Because it allows very flexible file lists.
2. Because it is a safe - overwriting or file transfer occurs only if it is necessary. Files that have not changed since the last backup are not even attempted to be written and are skipped. This reduces the risk of file corruption or data loss.
3. It is fast*. Hash list allows the program to transfer only files that changed since the last backup.
If out of 30,000 files, only one was edited, OnTarget will find and copy only that file and ignore
the rest. This eliminates the slow write step from backup process.

time stamps on the source vs the target files to decide whether to skip them or to overwrite.
OnTarget examines the files content, which makes it work slower. But the
advantage of this approach is that it will recognize files whose time stamps are
preserved. For example, files used by security applications.
5. Backup copy is actively maintened. That is, if you deleted a file from your machine
OnTarget can also delete this file from the backup copy. This eliminates a lot of clutter
from the backup folder, which many backup applications fail to do.
